If you’e reading this, I’m glad you’re here :)
I’m Asma (uhss-ma) I am a Registered Psychotherapist with the College of Registered Psychotherapists of Ontario and has completed a master’s degree in Counselling Psychology from the University of Toronto.
I have particular experience working alongside adult clients who have experienced childhood and adult trauma in both individual and group capacity.
I also have expertise working with the student population in university settings.
My therapeutic approach is collaborative, non-judgemental, anti oppressive, and trauma-informed. It honours the client’s own wisdom regarding their emotional and life experiences. I incorporate a systemic lens in my practice to explore how broader systems such as society, culture, and family shape our individual experiences and our relationship with the self.
With the therapeutic relationship as a safety anchor for the client to reconnect with their inner wisdom and self, I draw from different modalities that match the client’s needs and goals, including but not limited to Internal Family Systems, Narrative Therapy, Feminist Therapy, Liberation Psychology, Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT), and Interpersonal Therapy.
Upon request, I am able to provide faith-based therapy for clients who identify as Muslim and can provide services in English, Arabic and French (english comprehension required).
